Now this was a couple of weekends ago, but oh my, what a time I had! So many crafty people, such a crisp, wonderful Sydney Autumn day, and a world of ideas swirling before my eyes...
Beeyootiful prints from a stall holder I didn't get to meet... anyone who knows this person's work, please let me know!
Totally cool Hinged Beasts from Emma Kidd at benconservato... wow... and what a sweet lady!
And yet another amazingly talented chick, Anika Cook from the gently unfurling sneak. I'm trying not to succumb to feelings of inferiority by this time...
And if all the craft at Finders Keepers didn't float your boat, Carriageworks was also playing host to a Farmers' Market (which it does every Saturday). Honestly, what a great space it is...
I have so few photos of this amazing day, as I was so busy chatting and ogling and ooh-ing and aahh-ing that my camera just didn't get a look-in... Sorry!
Whenever I tell people I've recently moved into a new house, and am still living amongst boxes and artwork and stuff stacked everywhere, they usually tell me it's completely normal to run out of motivation to do anything after you've renovated and moved all your goods and chattels...
Is this true people?? I've been here about a month now, and still I have no proper kitchen... Well actually I have the absolute basics (ie sink, cooker, kettle, coffee machine).
And now thanks to Mr Fixit and our friend Tim (thanks Tim you're awesome), I have some cupboards to put things in. But that will have to wait for another post... baby steps...
With the last of the produce from our old garden, we had a huge cookup! Yay for carrots! And leeks, a rather large radish, one tiny beetroot and a whole stack of rosmary, sage and a bunch of bay leaves I snipped off the tree before leaving for good.
And last but not least, jerusalem artichokes... also known as fartichokes, due to their amazing wind inducing abilities. It's worth sitting through a few trumps though, because their flavour is sweet and nutty and their texture is creamy... Just perfect for an autumn feast.
I searched for recipes and came up with this tres simple and also delicious one by Jamie Oliver. I ad libbed a bit, and added tuna, sage, and served it over spirelli with cracked pepper and parmesan - which probably blew the carb count, but who cares? It's cold!!

To'ally pukka, eh?
I'm wondering how the hell I'm to post any "after" photos with boxes everywhere still, no art hung, mirrors stacked against the wall...
I think I'll have to work at one tiny corner at a time... stay tuned.
In the meantime, I found this fantabulous chook house - or should I say palace - that I only wish I could have in my back yard...
Those beautiful birds deserve a lovely roosting spot after all the work they're putting in. The garden is slowly becoming rid of weeds, in the process uncovering all sorts of fabulous soil and seedlings! Celery and mint have been discovered so far...
My new folding washing line was installed today by Mr Fixit - what a guy! Time to attack that mountain of laundry... *sigh*
